Prayer

Prayer is vital to our growth, our purpose and our health.  When we reflect upon the 40 years in the wilderness, the main focus is the complaining and the whining which was done by the noisy minority.  What about the quiet majority? There were up to 2 million in the desert and it seems that they suffered for the lack of faith and lack of Godly intent of the few. The writer of Hebrews referred to this in chapters 3 & 4 as unbelief and that with it no-one would be allowed to enter into the Sabbath rest.  It is the same today.  If we don't pray or that we lack the faith to pray, we will end up with exactly what we expect - NOTHING!

Surely, the majority were praying and seeking God for His blessing and protection. Those who were seeking Him were determined to survive through it all.  Outside of Joshua and Caleb, all the males over the age of 30 would perish but once they had realized their own unbelief you would expect that they prayed that their children would not die in the wilderness.

Your prayers are vital - it is the lifeblood of our relationship with the Lord and those we are in constant communication with on a daily basis.  Obviously, our own family unit, our workmates, those in need  or, not merely, those we like.

We cannot pray enough.  There is very little mention about prayer in the Old Testament because it was a question of the relationship that you had with God the Father, the Creator of mankind. Sadly, God had to establish 613 Laws to  help them to keep fellowship, association with the people but Jesus came ... Life was re-born and He gave us the opportunity -  the chance to speak to Almighty God - get a hold of that! - and to hear back  - not through a man called like  a Moses, or Joshua, or Isaiah or a Paul, or John but to us - you and me.  Is that brilliant or not?  We pray as a church on Wednesday evenings but it is the heart beat, the very breath of any fellowship. Keep praying wherever and whenever you‘re able.
