It's that time again! I am officially only a few days away from returning to our work in Cambodia...
I have the privilege to be able to be going back to Cambodia for at least another 2 years to establish the safe house project that has been in the pipeline for many years. There are so many needs and so many ways to help all over the world, and especially on today being "Remembrance Day" it really continues to help put into perspective that this life we have is not our own and that millions of people have come, are, and will continue to come and give their life for our freedom. Everyone needs to be free, free from oppression, free from sickness, free from insignificance, free from slavery, free from abuse, free from... you name it... I am thankful that though I never knew anyone personally that gave their life for me, they did, and they are continuing to do so.
It is possible that even in your place of work/school/family, you can, without dying, become selfless and give your life, not just·for the heck of it all, but to see others free, succeed, living abundantly joyful lives, living in peace... There are many people we meet and brush by everyday that are much different on the inside than on the outside. We all know we have done it, on the outside we paint the picture of joy, peace, happiness, the "how are you"? - "I'm good" statement. Not that we become crazy people that go around doing over the top questioning demanding people to open up and be honest, that's not the point but when we give, even something as small as a smile, a cup of coffee, a note, a $20, we never know how much that actual means. We know when we need it, so why not do something today that shows someone their valuable, worth remembering, worth giving to...
It's awesome to think that through going to Cambodia will we see kids lives changed and hope restored... But it's going to tough, real people, real lives, real brokenness... But remember today, do what you were born for, do what you were made and crafted for, and it will always include connecting with people. People are what matters, (Love God)·Love People, not gooey but real, genuine, selfless...
To all who are following me while I am away, add me to Skype (patman.meir)... Bless you, keep smiling.... Patrick
